"Vina" is our decorative woven basket series made from water hyacinth/banana leaves. This fast-growing natural material is used in many ways in Indonesia. Workers dry the leaves and roll them into long strips. This is the raw material for basket weavers, who use it to create small works of art. As these are handmade products made from a natural material, each basket is slightly different.
The sturdy natural baskets are flat at the bottom, making them very stable. Equipped with two handles, they are easy to transport. Use "Vina" as a decorative laundry basket, for example. Wrap the root ball of your plant in plastic foil or place it in a plastic pot – and you have a flower pot that gives your covered terrace an Asian flair.
Water hyacinth is the name given to a natural material obtained in South Asia and South America from the leaves of a floating leaf plant. The plant is welcome in its native habitat as a natural water filter. However, its rapid growth has led to an oversupply, which has found a new use: the dried stems are now used to make basketry and even furniture. Banana leaf is the name given to a natural material obtained from the leaves of the banana plant in South Asia and Southeast Asia. The large leaves are traditionally used for cooking, serving, and packaging food, as temple decorations, and even as rain protection. When dried, it becomes a material for house construction and many household utensils.

Please note: Wicker baskets made from natural materials suffer from excessive moisture. They are therefore not suitable for direct planting. When used outdoors, they should be protected from the weather.
