Diamonds are characteristic of Moroccan mosaic tables. The upside-down squares have both a decorative and a symbolic function: as stylized eyes (witch's eyes), they are supposed to protect people from all kinds of misfortune. Mosaic artists often combine the diamonds with a wide variety of ornaments. However, one thing always remains the same: the glazed mosaic pieces are first cut from handcrafted zellige tiles using a sharp-edged hammer. Each tabletop is purely handmade and therefore absolutely unique.
The edge of the mosaic tabletop almost always features the typical diamonds. A zigzag border mosaic, on the other hand, is very rare. On this fully glazed dining table, it frames a diamond parquet. Depending on where you focus your gaze, it shows a grid pattern or intersecting lines. The color scheme is both neutral and elegant. This magnificent mosaic table therefore becomes a stunning centerpiece in both rustic and stylish surroundings.
