The joints between the individual mosaic pieces are clearly visible on the Ankabut Blue Green bistro table . This is entirely intentional, as the craftsmen had the artistically woven web of a spider (Ankabut) in mind when designing it. Alternatively, the design is reminiscent of fireworks unfolding magnificently in the sky. The diamond-shaped border is typical of Oriental mosaic art: this religious symbol is believed to have a protective function.
This mosaic table clearly shows how well green and blue tones harmonize. Together with a few brown and white accents, the mosaic artist composed the Ankabut pattern from tesserae (mosaic stones) in light and dark blue, emerald green, and turquoise. The position of the brown cellije stars creates the impression of looking into the calyxes of densely growing flowers. The mosaic invites you to explore its diversity.
