The daily setting of different mosaics naturally stimulates the imagination. Moroccan maalems (master craftsmen) enjoy developing new ornaments. Modern mosaics even have a very special appeal: they combine today's Oriental culture with traditions that have existed for centuries. As in the past, zellije tiles are cut into the appropriate mosaic pieces with a hammer blade, and as in the past, the craftsman sets the motif and fills it with filler material.
In white, turquoise, and blue, they blend in particularly well with a rose-covered arbor or a white-furnished terrace. However, the upholstery of the matching iron chairs should be plain in color if possible.
