Twenty cheerful fish seem to swim tirelessly around the inner diamond pattern. Fish are one of the modern motifs used by Moroccan mosaic artists. The shapes are carved from glazed zellige tiles and then embedded in fresh clay. The natural color of the clay gives the cobalt blue mosaic even more brilliance.
